and 6 place-mat tops.

After a short weekend, I finally got a few things done around the craft room. Finished my Moms Christmas gift (this past Christmas), made my own ironing/pressing board. Looked over some quilting magazines I got finally. Ironed some fat quarters I bought and organized them. Had fun with some Saint Patty's celebrations. Along with getting together with some old friends for dinner and getting new hiking boots!

I have finally finished my first quilt that is for my nephew Lukas, I'm really proud of it. I think it turned out great for my first quilt. I definitely have a lot to learn and am looking forward to learning more. I also made a couple fabric bunting banner that was used to decorate for the baby shower and then will be used in his nursery.

The banner is made of a variety of fabric that I purchased at Joann Fabrics. The quilt top which is with the monkey trim was made of a charm pack from Joann's and the backing was on solid piece of fabric also from Joann's.

My next craft project are pillowcases. I want to make some for my nieces and also to practice and learn more around the sewing machine.  I also want to finish my mom's place-mats that were a Christmas gift that didn't get finished in time.

I'm slowly working on my nephews quilt, but its coming along hopefully I will have pictures up soon of it. Its been a busy past week. I went and checked out a fabric store (other than Joann's) and was pretty impressed with the place. Super friendly and they offer a lot of different classes. I'm thinking I might sign up for one.

CHRISTMAS PRESENTS
Here are a few quilting crafts I did for Christmas presents to family.

These are the place-mats I made for my sister (She loves owls and the colors fit her personality and home decor). They are the 3rd project I did with my sewing machine. I think they are pretty good for how little I know about sewing and quilting.

I made both baby doll blankets for my nieces Ashlee & Shelby. ( I need to learn how to bind my pieces better.)

I just love the colors of this blanket, its even better in person!
